How Can You Find
Lost Records?

Unfortunately, natural disasters are a part of the world we live in. How can you reconstruct records if you lose them in a natural disaster?

Recently, the IRS gave a few tips of how to find lost records.

Finding these records are very important, as they can help you prove your disaster-related loss and get more recovery assistance. It can also help you with insurance reimbursement and taxes.

Here are some important steps...

Tax Records

The IRS has a tool to easily help you with this. "Get free tax return transcripts immediately using the Get Transcript on IRS.gov or through the IRS2Go app", the IRS says.

You can also call 800-908-9946 and follow the prompts in order to obtain your tax records.

Financial Statements

Thankfully, in our world of technology and apps - most financial records can be found online or on your banking app. If you are having difficulty obtaining them, feel free to reach out to your bank as they would be best to assist you.

Property Records

If you own a home, you can contact the title company or bank that handled the purchase. If you did work on the house to make improvements, you can get in touch with the contractors for the records of this work.

If you need to obtain your car records, you can search the online resources from the current fair-market for vehicles.

We hope this helps, but of course if you have any questions please feel free to reach out to us.
