Gold Standard Tax & Accounting was founded with one goal: to provide exceptional financial services that empower small business owners. Over the years, we’ve grown into a full-service firm, helping hundreds of businesses organize their finances, save money, and succeed in competitive markets.

Rachel Rubin
Controller
Rachel Rubin has been working in the tax and accounting field for over 15 years, and founded Gold Standard Tax & Accounting in 2014. Her desire to create her own firm started with the need to see clients treated fairly, and that need spurns on everything the business touches.
She was born in San Diego, California and relocated to New York about four years ago in order to expand her volunteer work. She has a Bachelor's degree in Accountancy from San Marcos State University of California.
Her favorite part about working with this team is that she is able to view each member as a part of her family.

Candace Matthews
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Candace Matthews has been working in the tax and accounting field for over 12 years, and has been working with Gold Standard Tax & Accounting since it's inception. Candace became a CPA in 2014, and her attention to detail makes her an incredible asset to the team.
She has a Bachelors in Accountancy from California State University Northridge.
When she isn't preparing taxes, she enjoys reading novels, learning languages, and painting.

Stephanie Roberts
Staff Accountant
Stephanie Roberts was born and raised in sunny California. Her love for people got her involved in the bookkeeping world, and she has over 15 years of experience.
She is the Head Bookkeeper and Office Manager of Gold Standard Tax and Accounting, but when she isn't working, she loves to go for long walks and hikes, and also enjoys painting.
Her favorite part of the job is when she is able to help people understand and feel good about where their finances are at.

Makayla Land
Marketing Director
Makayla Land currently resides in South Carolina where she directs Gold Standard Tax's marketing and social media department. Her main goal is to provide a professional face to the company and ensure as many people as possible know about the golden standard offered here.
When she isn't creating images and content, she enjoys running outside and creative writing.
Her favorite part of working alongside the Gold Standard team is helping clients feel more at ease with facing the daunting task of taxes.

Kaela Castro
Bookkeeper
Kaela Castro, like many of our team members, hails from California but currently lives in New York. Her hard work ethic and genuine nature are an asset as she is utilized for bookkeeping and payroll processing.
Her favorite aspect of working with the company is working with an "amazing team of people who genuinely care about their work and each other."
When she isn't crunching the numbers, she likes to have her creative side show by journaling, painting, and listening to music.

Sandy Skari
Bookkeeper
Sandy Skari is originally from Michigan and went to college there, but now lives in the Nashville area. Her experience in business and court reporting shows in her attention to detail as a bookkeeper.
She loves working with the Gold Standard team, but when she isn't working she loves spending time with her grandson and going for walks in Tennessee's beautiful parks.
She is just one of our qualified bookkeepers within the incredible bookkeeping team here at Gold Standard.

Alexis Gerber
Bookkeeper
Alexis is key in prepping our head bookkeeper each month with each client. She ensures that documentation is properly accounted for on each client's file. She always asks the right questions to make sure each piece maintains its accuracy and functionality for the team, and is always willing to go the extra mile to learn new aspects of her skill.
Alexis loves Gold Standard's warm work environment and the team's approachability to ask questions.
As a current resident of New York, she spends her down time by enjoying a good book or listening to music.
